With summers comes early morning acidic bile vomits, dehydration and the possibility of dreaded heat strokes. The trick is in maintaining proper hydration and few lifestyle changes such as early morning / late evening walks. Personally, what has worked the best for my dogs is slightly reducing the meal quantities (read about summer friendly meal ingredients here; https://goodmama.in/blogs/news/what-to-feed-our-pets-in-summers-cooling-foods-for-pets-in-summer ) and adding more hydrating drinks to keep up the hydration levels and body cooler.
This White pumpkin mint cooler is one of my bhaalu's favourite and helps so much with keeping her body cool as well as hydrated. You can get creative with adding some more ingredients of your pup's choice.
Step 1:
In a grinder, steam white pumpkin (ash gourd) for 5 mins
Step 2:
To this, along with 1/3 cup curd
Step 3:
to this, add few leaves of mint, coriander or parsley
Step 4:
Now add, 1 spoon of hemp seeds and soaked chia seeds (you can get pure himalayan hemp seed powder here; https://goodmama.in/products/hemp-seed-powder-1)
Step 5:
1 spoon honey & a glass of water - and grind it all together into a Green Mint Cooler
Serve it cold - ideally 30 to 40 mins before walks. This will help proper hydration and avoid over heating of the body.
